Neighbourhood watch: not logged in Start or Join your local Neighbourhood watch Review local crime stats online Report information to the Police securely Receive Alerts by Text, Voice and email: stay in touch Start a scheme A form of Neighbourhood Watch (NhW) was started originally in the United States of America to increase their local safety and was observed by some visiting United Kingdom citizens. Their thoughts were that it would work well in their locality, so they set up the first scheme in 1982.

From that has developed a comprehensive network of NW schemes across the country. Lincolnshire has a growing family of District Associations, at present there are nine, and in that there are over 2,500 schemes ( co-ordinators ), covering in excess of 65,000 households. A substantial extra number of 'eyes' for the Police in Lincolnshire.

These figures are rising monthly due to the efforts of the Neighbourhood Policing Teams. For more information, or to enrol as a new co-ordinator and form a new scheme, you can contact either the Neighbourhood Watch and Volunteer Developement Manager at nhw@lincs.pnn.police.uk or the Neighbourhood Policing Team by the link:- Find Your Local Policing Team on the CONTACT page.

We are considered by the Police to be 'Information Gatherers', not curtain twitchers! We are not busy-bodies, but we do keep a eye on elderly and vulnerable citizens in our midst, by various means and initiatives. A couple of these initiatives are :- Message in a Bottle, and Nominated Neighbour.
