Almost to the printing stage. Approval has been granted by the various agencies and now
waiting on a proof copy to be read. 5000 to be printed and distribution planned from
Schools within SKDC first – being given to Years 5 and 6. It is hoped that this will be
rolled out further afield within Lincolnshire.
Lincs Community Safety has asked for 300 to be given out as part of their JPCSO
scheme and they will fund them.
● Joanne Hussey, Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue
There is still the offer of a Home Fire Safety Check – this has progressed so that people
can fill in an on-line form and if needed a home visit can be booked. The Fire & Rescue
service will come out to your house and do a Home Safety Check. Fire alarms will be
fitted if required. There is now a Fire alarm that has a battery life of 10 years.
Contact Numbers for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue – Head Office 01522 582222 or Local
Office 01476 565441. The Fire Service are also trying to find any hoarders in the area to
assist them with making their homes safe. Lincs Fire Service would like NHW to be
aware of vulnerable people in their area and if need be point them in the direction of the
Fire Service for assistance.
First Contact – for the Over 60s, an agency will contact you and provide Telecare and a
lifeline button, smoke alarms. Equipment for those who are hard of hearing, etc.
Responders to Warm, they can offer products such as heaters, etc.
(Home Safety Check Referral Form attached)
● Steve Pashley – Rally Round
Rally Round is an on-line and mobile service, that makes it easy for family members and
friends, to co-ordinate how they can help a loved one who wants to stay living
independently in their own home.
Rally Round is ideal for :
1. Family members, friends or neighbours who want to do jobs to help a loved one stay
living at home.
2. Someone who is housebound and needs help from family members, friends or
3. An informal carer who needs more help from friends & family members.
