Thefts from vehicles

Alert message sent 17/06/2018 14:53:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

In recent weeks there has been an increase in thefts of items from parked cars. This is occurring in isolated locations across the rural area. The circumstances are usually where a dog walker or hiker / rambler has parked their vehicle at the roadside or on the grass verge, at some point another vehicle has happened upon the parked vehicle and smashed a window to remove any items that might have some value.

Although not always possible, remove any items of value before travelling and leave them at home, anything else should be kept with you or at the very least completely hidden from sight. A hand bag strap showing under a seat will be sufficient temptation to an opportunist offender.

Please report any suspicious vehicles or people seen when out walking or parking up in isolated areas on 101.
